Maxim Park brings down the house in aid of Maggie’s!

Maggie’s Lanarkshire is a vital support centre for anyone experiencing any type of cancer and their loved ones, and we’ve been privileged to be able to give the team there almost £500 raised through our latest charity bingo event.

Hosted by professional MC James Oakley, aka Sir James Lord of Quiz, almost 80 members of the park community attended the occasion last Thursday which took place over three sessions so that everyone that wanted to could take part – whatever the time of their official lunch break!

We even ensured our call centre colleagues were able to enjoy a 20-minute express game, and guest of honour was Maggie’s Centre Fundraiser Colin Mathieson, who accepted a final total of £494.54 on behalf of all our tenants.

With a donation fee of just £5 to enter, the biggest winners on the day were Fiona Robertson, owner and Managing Director at The Fountain Hair Studio, Toni from Foundever, the on-site customer experience recruitment experts and Charlene from Balfour Beatty.

Leigh from recruitment specialist Pertemps Network Group, was arguably even luckier, having walked away with two separate prizes – a restaurant voucher and one worth £50 from Glasgow-based specialist drinks retailer, The Good Spirits Co.

But some might say the prize of the day was won by Calum from renewable energy developer Muirhall Energy, who not only bagged a bottle of wine, but will get to enjoy it with a life-size cut-out of none other than Ken himself – Ryan Gosling!

Even those that didn’t get to shout ‘House!’ were in with a chance at winning something in our raffle, which featured prizes including a ‘Diet Starts on Monday’ sweets hamper and a toilet survival kit.

In addition to Foundever and The Fountain Hair Studio, as well as our on-site spa, Revive the Key to Wellness, a huge thank you to all the other organisations that supported the event, including civil engineering firm Wills Bros, medical device company PneumoWave, medical equipment manufacturer Lumira DX UK Ltd, the Scottish Environmental Protection Agency (SEPA), Keyloop, which provides automotive technology solutions, infrastructure group Balfour Beatty, and logistics provider Europa.

Huge fun was had by all and we’re already planning a charity pub quiz and another bingo day for later in the year, so don’t forget to stay up to date with all of our events and news on the Maxim app, our Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and TikTok pages, and on our website at maximpark.com/community/#events.
