Important Scottish charity benefits from Maxim’s 15 minutes of fame

People across Scotland managing mental health distress are to benefit from Maxim Park having been asked for help in the filming of a hit British drama.

The production crew working on series two of Vigil have recently been based on site, and they were joined by cast members Rose Leslie from Game of Thrones fame, and Scottish actor Dougray Scott, who has starred in Hollywood blockbusters including the Mission Impossible series.

The 100+ strong team made up of cast, crew and extras, filmed both inside and outside Piece, the on-site, award-winning, independent sandwich firm, and on the bridge outside our retail parade.

And instead of payment for permission to use our facilities at Maxim Park, our management team requested a donation be made to the charity SAMH (Substance Abuse and Mental Health), whose centenary is this year.

Malwina Bieniawska, our Sustainability and Community Coordinator, said: “It was an unexpected surprise to be approached by World Productions about filming at Maxim Park, and we’ll be watching the series when it hits our screens in the coming months to see if we can catch sight of some familiar spots.

“While it’s been exciting to host such big names in our workplace community, much more important is the support it has facilitated for those who rely on the many crucial services offered by SAMH.

If you’d like to use Maxim Park as a base for nearby filming, or a location in its own right, contact the team by calling (01698) 732 233 or emailing enquiries@maximpark.co.uk. To keep up to date with all of Maxim’s regular events and news, download the new Maxim app.
