Big Dig For Landscape Recruits Appointments

31/10/2008

THE economic landscape looks bright enough for Keppie Design – Scotland’s largest architecture practice has recruited five new team members to its expanding landscape division. Jon Simmons has been appointed to lead and develop the team, which brings together eight landscape designers with a range of national and international experience.

Ken Davie, a director at Keppie Design, said:

“It’s hugely significant for us to have appointed Jon to drive forward to the landscape design practice. We’ve seen an increase in demand in Scotland and across the UK for design-led, landscape projects and we’re now well equipped to compete at the highest level.”

One of Keppie’s main projects is Maxim, the £330 million speculative office park under development at Bellshill in Lanarkshire. Previous landscape projects undertaken by the team include Glasgow's Sauchiehall Street, Carluke town centre, Renfrew town centre and City Science in Glasgow’s Merchant City.

Simmons said:

“Landscape Architecture is a growing area and one which is relatively robust in any economic downturn.”
