Berits and Brown opens its doors at Maxim Office Park
02/12/2009
Upmarket licensed delicatessen and coffee shop Berits & Brown has opened the doors of its largest franchise to date at the prestigious Maxim Office Park in Lanarkshire - creating 15 jobs and providing a first class eatery for up to 60 diners.
Owners Euan Mackay and brothers Murray and Alastair Hannah – who also run a lucrative branch of the chain in Glasgow’s Merchant City - have invested around £350,000 in the new venture at Maxim Building Three. The team also plan to base an outside catering business on site, containing a fully-fitted, professional kitchen.
The opening marks another milestone for Maxim, further enhancing the park’s profile and helping create an ideal office hub aimed at attracting a mix of global and local companies looking for high quality office space between Edinburgh and Glasgow.
Franchiser Murray Hannah said: “Maxim is a great fit for the Berits & Brown brand. Our Glasgow operation has been a roaring success and we now want to move to the next level by combining a large-scale deli operation with a fully functioning outside catering business.
“With the potential for 8,000 jobs across the site as well as the added attraction of a community-based environment, Maxim is the perfect location for us.”
Maxim chief executive, Karen Campbell agreed, adding: “We’re seeing a growing commercial momentum at Maxim and Berits & Brown is exactly the kind of occupier we want to attract - high quality, individual and innovative.’’
